Patrol Boardshort - Partnership with LA County Lifeguards

Creating boardshorts for the LA County Lifeguards was a major goal of mine during my time at HippyTree. After numerous years of meeting with the lifeguards, we earned the opportunity by demonstrating our commitment to designing a boardshort specifically tailored for ocean rescues. What set us apart was our close collaboration with lifeguards to transform a standard performance surf trunk into a life-saving uniform. Key features included a back hip pocket for a 2-way radio and a dual-closure side pocket to securely store tools and valuables.

As Design Director and Project Manager, I led all communication with the LA Lifeguards, directed the apparel design, and oversaw product development and marketing.
